From 4 May 2023, voters in England will need to show photo ID to vote at polling stations in some elections.
Police and Crime Commissioner elections
Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections take place once every four years. The last election for the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Police and Crime Commissioner took place on Thursday 2 May 2024. The result is shown below in the Certificate of Result.
Rutland County Council elections
The election of councillors to serve on Rutland County Council takes place once every four years, on the first Thursday in May.

Town and parish elections
The election of town and parish councillors takes place once every four years, on the first Thursday in May.

Parish and town council elections - 22 June 2023
All four parish council elections due to be held on 22 June 2023 were uncontested. This means there was no election for those parishes on that day and the candidates put forward were elected uncontested. The results of these uncontested elections can be found on our Election results page.

General elections usually take place every five years.
