The application process
The closing date for submitting an application for a primary school place for September 2025 has now passed.
- if your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021, an application should have been submitted by the national closing date - 15 January 2025
- if you are considering delaying your child's start at primary school, an application should still have been submitted alongside a request that your child's admission to primary school is delayed by a year. More information can be found in our deferred entry guidance
If you live in Rutland
- if you need to submit a late application, you must complete the paper application form. The online admissions portal is now closed.
- the application form allows you to submit up to 3 preferences of primary school.
- you must submit your application to us even if you want to apply for a school in another area.

If you live in another local authority area
If you don't live in Rutland but want to apply for a Rutland primary school, you must submit an application to the council where you live. Check your council's website for details.
National Offer Day
You will find out the school that has been offered to your child on the national offer day which will be 16 April 2025.
