Third party consent

How to give permission for someone else to talk to us about your account

As a general rule, we won't discuss your account with anyone but you.

We know that sometimes, people need help to deal with their Council Tax account. For example, from a:

  • money advice service
  • friend or relative
  • letting agent

We need your consent if you'd like us to share information about your account with someone else.

You need to complete the consent form to confirm who we are allowed to talk to. Once you've sent us the form, we'll update our records and act in accordance with your wishes.

You can withdraw or amend consent at any time - you just need to inform us in writing. Email localtaxation@rutland.gov.uk or write to us at: Local Taxation, Rutland County Council, Catmose, Oakham, Rutland LE15 6HP.

If you hold a Power of Attorney for someone's financial affairs, send us a copy of the paperwork and we'll be able to use this as permission to discuss the account with you.
