Rutland County Council will consult with public on how to deliver Ryhall Library service
Rutland County Council has confirmed the start date for a public consultation on how to best deliver library services in Ryhall.

Rutland County Council has confirmed the start date for a public consultation on how to best deliver library services in Ryhall.
The consultation follows a review of the condition of the Ryhall Library building, as part of plans to enhance all four libraries in Rutland. During the planning process, it became apparent that the necessary works to bring Ryhall Library up to required standards would exceed the available budget for the site. As a result, the Council, having notified the Department of Digital Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) and the Arts Council, is looking to explore alternative options for delivering library services in Ryhall.
The consultation will begin on Wednesday 29 January and run until Thursday 27 February. It will be carried out through an online survey, with paper copies available at the library. The Council will also host in-person drop-in sessions at the library building, to allow residents to speak with officers from its Living Well Rutland Service. These sessions will take place on the following dates and times:
- Thursday 6 February, 1.30 – 5pm
- Friday 7 February, 2 – 4pm
- Thursday 13 February, 9am – 12.30pm
“We understand how important Ryhall Library is to the local community and we want to assure residents that we remain committed to providing a library service for both current and future users. We are eager to hear the views of Ryhall residents on how we can best achieve this.”
Councillor Christine Wise, Cabinet Member for Transport, Environment, and Communities at Rutland County Council
Further details on how to participate in the consultation will be provided ahead of the launch on Wednesday 29 January.
