We've published details of the candidates who will be standing for election in Oakham North East on 21 November.

Details of candidates standing in the Oakham North East By-Election on Thursday 21 November have been confirmed.

The official Statement of Persons Nominated for the election was published by Rutland County Council on Friday 25 October and can be read on our Councillor Vacancies page.

Candidates standing in the election are as follows:

  • Ben Callaghan – Reform UK
  • Linda Louise Chatfield – Liberal Democrats
  • Christopher StJohn Eric Clark – The Conservative Party Candidate
  • Katie Ross – Labour Party

The deadline for people to register to vote in time for this election is midnight on Tuesday 5th November. 

The quickest and easiest way to do this is online by visiting the national GOV.UK website.

Registered voters who want to vote by post or postal proxy must apply to their local council before 5.00pm on Wednesday 6 November 2024.

The deadline to apply for a new proxy vote must reach your local council before 5.00pm on Wednesday 13th November.

People voting in person at polling stations are being reminded about the need to bring a valid form of photo ID or Voter Authority Certificate with them when they go to cast their votes.
