Information about disruption being caused by heavy rain and localised flooding.

Heavy rain has increased the risk of localised flooding in Rutland.

Please take care and stay up to date with the latest forecast.

Reports of flooding

We have received reports of flooding on the following roads. Please avoid these areas and use an alternative route, if possible:

  • Brooke Road (Ridlington to Brooke)
  • Manton Bridge (A6003 between Oakham and Uppingham, known as Uppingham Road)
  • Whissendine (currently Main St and Stapleford Rd most affected)
  • Geeston Road (between Ketton to Collyweston)
  • Ashwell Depot (on Ashwell Road from Oakham to Ashwell)

Road closures

The following roads have been closed because of surface water flooding:

  • there are currently no road closures in place

Never drive through flood water. If you are caught ignoring road closure signs to drive through flood water, you will be prosecuted by the police.

Travel disruption

The following public transport services are experiencing disruption due to the weather conditions and surface water flooding:

  • the R1 bus may be delayed due to flooding between Bringhurst and Cottingham. Please factor this in for any journeys on this route.

Disruption to council services

The following Rutland County Council services have been disrupted because of the severe weather:

  • there is currently no disruption to Council services
