The front-page story in last week’s Rutland Times (Thursday 14 September) contained incorrect information about Oakham Bus Station and plans to spend Rutland’s Levelling Up Funding (LUF).
Rutland County Council has at no point proposed spending £6.5m of LUF money to turn Oakham Bus Station into a “travel information centre”.
The council has secured £6.5m of LUF money to improve local transport services, including new buses and the opportunity to trial electric buses in the future.
Separate to this, the council is considering options for the future use of Oakham Bus Station, following incidents of anti-social behaviour and vandalism earlier this year.
No decision has been made yet regarding the future use of Oakham Bus Station.
