There is one last chance for those interested in standing for election in May to join Rutland County Council’s Candidate and Agents Briefing and get all the information they need on the process.

The last session will take place between 3pm and 5pm on Monday 13 March in the Council Chamber at Rutland County Council, Catmose, Oakham.

The briefing will give anyone interested in becoming a councillor help and information regarding standing for either a County Council vacancy or a parish council vacancy. It will also cover key dates, qualifications/disqualifications, the submission of nomination papers, agents’ roles, postal votes, voter ID, the poll, the count and candidate spending.

Rutland County Council’s Election Team will be at hand to help with any enquiries you may have.

If you would like to come along to the briefing sessions, please register for a place by emailing: elections@rutland.gov.uk or calling 01572 720954.

Further information about becoming a Councillor can also be found on the Local Government Association's website.
