Deputy Lieutenants are nominated by the Lord-Lieutenant to assist with duties.

Rutland currently has 13 Deputy Lieutenants (DL) and one Vice Lord-Lieutenant (VLL) who represent the Lord-Lieutenant in her absence, including at local ceremonies and official events.
