Online safety

Cybercrime and security

Cybercrime and cybersecurity is a fast growing area of concern with more and more people exploiting the speed, convenience and anonymity of the Internet to commit an ever widening range of criminal activities.

Cybercrime is a term used to define any crime in which a computer or electronic device is the object of the crime (hacking, phishing, spamming) or used as a tool to commit an offence (cyberstalking, hate crimes).

We take online safety and awareness very seriously and we are committed to working with our partners to enable them to offer the best and most up to date advice. Along with Leicestershire Police, we have a range of dedicated resources to help you safe online.
