Children in Care Council and SUSO

Find out about the Children in Care Council and Speak Up, Speak Out group

All children and young people aged 9+ in Rutland belong to Rutland's Children In Care Council which we call SUSO (Speak Up Speak Out).

There are lots of opportunities for involvement and you can choose what works for you. Come along, have fun, build your confidence and make new friends. You can share your experiences without judgement. During meetings we do some work and then an activity that the group have chosen.

When we meet we discuss different topics as well as getting feedback from you about anything that is important to you. This is then feedback to managers from Childrens Social Care and the Corporate Parenting Board.

SUSO gives you a chance to:

  • share your views and opinions about the support you receive
  • Help make a difference
  • talk to other young people in care
  • make new friends

We meet on the last Saturday of the month at 1pm - usually in Oakham.

Transport can be arranged.
