Get a copy death certificate
We can only provide copy death certificates for deaths that occurred in Rutland.
To find an entry, we will need:
- the person's full name
- the date of death
- the place of death
We can issue as many certified copies as you need and offer two certificate services:
Standard Service
£12.50 per copy
Certificates are processed within 15 working days.
Priority Service
£38.50 per copy
Certificates are processed on or before next working day, where payment is received by 3pm.
If the death occurred outside Rutland, you'll need to contact the council in that area. If you don't know where the death occurred, you can apply to the General Register Office.

Civil registration began on 1 July 1837 - before this date, churches kept records of births, deaths and marriages.
