Renewal of vows ceremonies

How to book and arrange a renewal of vows ceremony

A ceremony officer will work with you to prepare everything for your special day and will draft the first script.

You'll be able to add non-religious readings, music and personalised promises to suit your needs and wishes.

A typical order of ceremony:

  1. Music
  2. Welcome and introduction
  3. Reading or poem
  4. Renewal of vows and personal promises
  5. Re-dedication of original rings or exchange of new rings
  6. Reading or poem
  7. Closing of the ceremony
  8. Signing of the commemorative certificate and photo opportunity
  9. Music

The ceremony officer will arrive at your venue approximately 30 minutes before the ceremony is due to begin.

The ceremony itself usually lasts about 25-30 minutes, depending on the options you've chosen.

At the end of the ceremony, your commemorative certificate is signed by yourselves, the witnesses and the ceremony officer.

Your renewal of vows ceremony certificate cannot be used as proof of identification.

The ceremony is not legally binding on those who take part in it.
