Citizenship ceremonies

How to book and arrange a citizenship ceremony

A citizenship ceremony is a celebration of your new status as a British citizen and a warm welcome from your local community.

When the Home Office approves your application for British citizenship, they'll invite you to contact us to arrange your ceremony.

The ceremony date must be within three months of the Home Office approval date.

If you're a new citizen aged under 18, you don't have to come to a ceremony (a parent can collect your certificate) - but you're welcome to come if you'd like to.

All citizenship ceremonies in Rutland take place in Catmose Cottage at Rutland Register Office.
