Births

Apply for a copy birth certificate

We can only provide a copy birth certificate if the person was born in Rutland.

If they were born outside of Rutland, you'll need to contact the council for that area. If you don't know which district they were born in, you can apply to the General Register Office.

You'll need to give:

  • the person's full name
  • the date and place of birth
  • the full names of the person's parents

Copy certificates cost £11 each, plus a £2.50 postage and packing fee.

How to order

Call us on 01572 758 370 and we'll take the details over the phone - you may need to leave us a voicemail, but we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

You can also email us the details: registrars@rutland.gov.uk - please also leave your name and phone number.

We will take your debit or credit card payment and aim to post the certificate(s) to you within 48 hours.
