Housing Benefit

Housing Benefit helps to pay your rent, if you're:

• of pension age
• living in supported accommodation - where you receive support such as care, supervision or advice to help you live independently
• living in temporary accommodation
• part of a couple where only one of you in pension age - you can either claim Housing Benefit from us or claim Universal Credit, it depends on your circumstances

Most working age people will need to claim Universal Credit, instead.
