Assessing your care and support needs

Financial assessments

Care and support services are not free – you may have to contribute to the cost of your care.

You’ll only be asked to pay what you can afford. We work this out by completing a financial assessment.

You now have the option of using our confidential online assessment form. This will give you an estimate of how much you might need to contribute towards your care and support needs. You can select to complete an assessment for care at home or for permanent residential care.

The online form is the quickest and easiest way to find out how much you might need to pay towards your care.

You can complete the online form if you:

  • have had a care and support assessment and need to complete a financial assessment
  • want to know how much you might need to pay towards any future care and support needs

Completing the online form

The following list highlights some important things to remember when completing the form:

  • before completing the form, click 'Login to OFA' in the top right hand corner - you can then either log in or register for a new account - this will allow you to 'Save for later' as you complete the form, if you need to gather further information
  • you will need to have all information to hand before completing the form - this is because the form may time out after periods of inactivity
  • if you choose to submit the form to us, you will need to upload and submit evidence too - the form will advise you what evidence is required
  • the online calculator will give you the option to save and print a copy of your assessment - Rutland County Council won't see your assessment unless you choose to submit it to us
  • you will receive an email confirmation once the form is submitted successfully
  • we will check any assessment you submit - we may then contact you to ask for further information
