Recycling, Rubbish & Green Waste
Did you know Rutland residents now recycle over 60% of all their waste. Well done and keep up the good work!
Our recycling rate for 2013/14 totalled 60.02% and places us 7th out of all Local Authorities in England, an improvement from 10th position in 2012/13.
Christmas 2014 and New Year Bin Collections
Your collection day may be different over the Christmas and New Year period. The following collection days will be changed:
| Usual collection day:
|| Collection moved to:|
| 24th December (Christmas Eve)
|| No change|
| 25th December (Christmas Day)
|| Tuesday 23rd December|
| 26th December (Boxing Day)
|| Wednesday 24th December|
| 1st January (New Years Day)
|| Friday 2nd January|
All other collections will take place as usual.
We realise that most homes have to deal with extra recycling and rubbish at Christmas. Residents have been provided with a blue bag for additional recycling and a pink bag for additional household waste. These will be collected on your first grey/black waste collection after Christmas. No other side waste will be collected and please remember that all bin lids must be fully closed.
Please note that Cottesmore Civic Amenity Site will be closing at 3pm on Wednesday 24th December and Wednesday 31st December, North Luffeham Civic Amenity Site will be closed both these days as normal. Both CA Sites will be closed Thursday 25th December 2014 and Thursday 1st January 2015.
