1) Promote and adopt measures to combat the effects of Climate Change 

2) Conserve and enhance the landscape, cultural heritage, archaeological and built environments and ensure that local distinctiveness is protected

3) Protect and enhance the wildlife and its habitats and important natural features within Rutland 

4) Promote principles of sustainable living which preserve natural resources and general environmental awareness in the community

5) Develop sustainable waste management practices for the whole of the waste stream
