Library Service Charges
This page gives details of the current rates of charges for library services
Charges are reviewed annually by Rutland County Council, with any changes
coming in to effect on 1st April
Concessions
Concessionary charges are available as noted below for
Children (aged 17 and under)
Full time students
Persons who are aged 60 and over
Persons who are claiming Income Support, Job Seeker’s Allowance, Incapacity Benefit, Severe Disablement Allowance or Disability Living Allowance.
Exemptions
Persons who are housebound, blind, partially sighted or have reading difficulties are exempt from all loan charges
Book Overdue Charges
Books are loaned for 21 days
If a book is returned late, a charge is applied for each day the library is open
Adults - 15p per day (maximum £0.75 per book)
Concessions (except children) - 10p per day (maximum £0.50 per book)
Exemptions and children - no charge
Charges per item reach their maximum level after 4 days. Maximum overdue per person £3.00.
Loan Charges
Items that are loaned for a fee are not subject to daily overdue charges.
If an item is returned late, loan charges for the additional period(s) are applied. Loan charges reach their maximum level 2 loan periods after the initial loan of the item.
Books on tape or CD (Loaned for 21 days)
No charge
Compact Discs (Loan Period 7 days)
Charge per item - £1.80
Exemptions - no charge
DVDs & Videos (Loan Period 7 days)
Charge per item - £2.90
Exemptions - no charge
Software (Loan Period 7 days)
Charge per item - £3.40
Exemptions - no charge
Lost or damaged items
If an item is lost or damaged, the full replacement cost of the item will be charged, plus an administration charge of 10% (subject to a minimum charge of £1.00). Under 5s are exempt from damage charges.
Book and Article Requests
Charge per request - £5.40
Concessions and Children - £3.20
Exemptions - no charge
Requests for items that are held on the library catalogue, or that are on order, are FREE.
Non-Book Requests
There is no charge for requests for chargeable items: CDs, DVDs, Videos or CDROMs
Internet Access and Office Software
Library members can use PCs for 2 hours per day free of charge. No time extentions are available.
There are short-use 20 minute PC's available at each branch.
Persons who do not have a library card can use PCs on a temporary ticket for 20 minutes a day.

All printing (including Internet, CDROMs etc.)

Photocopying
Coin operated photocopying

Faxing
To United Kingdom First page - £1.60 Each subsequent page - 90p
Non-UK and Premium Rate First page - £4.30 Each subsequent page - £2.20

All sales Postal costs + £2.20
