Language Learning with Transparent Language Online
Learn a new language or English (ESL) the fast, easy way, with Rutland Library Service!
Rutland Libraries are offering free access to Rutland Library Members to an online language learning system called Transparent Languages Online (previously called BYKI).
There are 80+ foreign languages offered, from Afrikaans to Zulu including a range of ESL courses.
To get your own FREE account, go to Transparent Language and log in with your library card barcode number (from your home PC, you will not need your barcode number from a library PC). Then, choose a username and password so you can track your progress. Transparent Languages uses flashcards to teach you sets of words and phrases and periodically prompts you to recall phrases you've already learned, so you won't learn and then forget. The system is strongest on vocabulary.
You can analyze your pronunciation and take dictation in addition to taking multiple choice tests. Plus, you can follow Transparent Language through Facebook or Twitter and get daily updates that will help you with the language you've chosen to learn.
If you are using this in the library buildings just ask for a headset at the counter.
