Household waste - garden waste
Garden waste is collected fortnightly through the kerbside recycling scheme using the green bin. All households are entitled to a fortnightly collection of garden waste (monthly December to February). The garden waste collected is taken for composting at a farm near Melton Mowbray. Materials accepted in the green bin include grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, tree and shrub prunings, leaves, weeds, windfall fruit, old flowers and plants, and small branches. Please do not put the green bin any food or kitchen waste, plant pots, pet waste and bedding, soil, rubble, large branches or general household waste. Garden waste may also be taken to a Civic Amenity (CA) Site (waste tips). They can be found at the following locations: Cottesmore Civic Amenity Site, Burley Road, Cottesmore, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 7BN North Luffenham Civic Amenity Site, Willoughby Road, Morcott, Oakham, Rutland, LE15 9DW Site Opening Times8.00am to 6pm - Monday to Sunday - October to March 8.00am to 8pm - Monday to Sunday – April to September. The sites are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
