Local Transport Plan Consultation

Published:Monday 26 July 2010

trafficLocal residents and stakeholders who want to influence the shape of the future transport strategy for Rutland are being invited to take part in a consultation on the next Local Transport Plan for Rutland. The plan covers April 2011 to March 2026.

Consultation will be taking place on the transport challenges that face Rutland in the coming years and the proposed options for addressing them.

Portfolio Holder for Highways, Transportation and Housing, Councillor Mark Wells said: “The County Council would really like to hear residents’ views on the role transport will need to play over the coming years. For example; supporting more housing, the economy and helping to reduce the environmental impact in the county. These are challenging times and the next Local Transport Plan is a key document that will affect the future shape of the County so I would encourage all residents to view the proposals and have their say.”

The Local Transport Plan display can be viewed at the following venues:

Ryhall Library: 26 to 29 July
Uppingham Library: 03 to 13 August
Oakham Library: 16 to 27 August

The consultation and questionnaire can also be accessed on the Council’s website www.rutland.gov.uk/localtransportplan

As part of the consultation, residents who attend the consultation displays will be asked to fill in questionnaires. These should be returned by the 31 August 2010.
