Job searching opportunities at Oakham Library
Rutland County Council and emda (East Midlands Development Agency) have recently invested in a suite of 20 new PC’s and other equipment to help Rutland residents’ access job information.
Housed in Oakham Library, the PC’s will act as important information points to those who are unemployed, featuring desk-top links for jobs searches, volunteering opportunities, and employment advice services. As part of the project (known as “Access to Work”) an Information, Advice and Guidance worker will also be available two mornings a week (Wednesday’s and Friday’s – 9am – 12pm) to offer advice and support to those seeking work. The sessions will be drop-in sessions though one to one appointments are available. Job seekers will be able to receive help with CV’s, application forms, interview techniques, and job searching.
Free printing is also being offered for job seekers during the sessions and a Smart Board has been installed in the library to assist with workshops.
It is hoped that this service will help many people access job websites and the services that they need in order to get employment within the county.
Anyone interested in job search help who is either unemployed or is in an "at risk" post can just drop-in to either session. For further deatils please contact Adult Learning on 01572 771700.
