Neighbourhood Planning in Uppingham
An Uppingham Town Neighbourhood Plan (UTNP) is being prepared by Uppingham Town Council. The Town Council is leading a local partnership including Uppingham First, Uppingham Town Partnership, Uppingham Neighbourhood Forum, and local residents associations, as well as being supported by Rutland County Council.
This will be one of the first neighbourhood plans in the country and when completed will set out the views of the local Uppingham community about:
- Establishing planning policies for the development and use of land
- Locations within the town where new homes, shops and offices should be built
- The appearance and design of any new buildings constructed
Proposed Neighbourhood Plan Area
In September 2012, Uppingham Town Council submitted proposals to Rutland County Council to change the boundary of the Uppingham Town Neighbourhood Plan. Under the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Rutland County Council has now confirmed the designated Neighbourhood Plan Area. A notice to this effect can be viewed below:
