Planning for Climate Change

A study has been commissioned jointly with a number of other local authorities to underpin the preparation of future planning policies relating to climate change.

The report includes an assessment of:

  • the potential impact of different spatial options on CO2 emissions and water usage;
  • the opportunities for renewable energy schemes in each local authority area;
  • the extent that it may be feasible to expect new buildings to reduce their carbon emissions beyond the requirements of the Building Regulations.
