Benefits (Housing)

• Local Housing Allowance  is designed as a simpler way of helping towards rent payments for those in the private rented sector.
• Discretionary Housing Payments are additional payments the Council can make if you receive Housing Benefit and/or Council Tax Benefit but still have something to pay, and still appear to need help.
• Housing Benefit is a social security benefit administered by the Council. It helps people on low incomes by contributing towards a rent they have to pay.
