Youth Surgery
Young people from schools and colleges across Rutland grasped the opportunity to quiz MP Alan Duncan at a special youth surgery.
The Rutland Youth Council organised the event which enabled young people to put their questions and any concerns to Mr Duncan.
Councillor Gene Plews, Portfolio Holder for Youth, attended: “I would like to thank Mr Duncan for giving up his valuable time to come and speak to the young people. I know that everybody who attended welcomed the chance to hear his views on a number of important issues. Mr Duncan is clearly very influential and it was clear the young people welcomed the chance to speak to somebody who could really make a difference”.
Gene Plews added: “I’d also like to congratulate the members of the Rutland Youth Council who organised the event. It was a real success with over 50 people attending and they should be very proud of their achievement”.
The event was attended by members of the Rutland Youth Council, and also representatives from Casterton Business and Enterprise College, Catmose College and Uppingham Community College.
