Market Towns

Rutland is fortunate to have two beautiful market towns.

Oakham

Oakham is a pretty, traditional English market town, and is nearly always bustling with activity.  Packed with heritage, there’s plenty to see and do in the town.  Oakham has a popular market every Wednesday and Saturday selling the best local produce including meats, cheeses, breads and eggs.

The monthly farmers market (3rd Saturday) takes place in Gaol Street and is very popular with both residents and visitors.

Oakham has a Town Council (http://www.oakhamtowncouncil.gov.uk/) and a Town Partnership.

Oakham Town Partnership (external link) has 16 members.

Uppingham 2

Uppingham has a wealth of history and a host of excellent independent shops, the majority of which are still family owned and run.  A weekly market takes place in the picturesque town centre with a wide variety of local produce on offer.

Uppingham has a Town Council (http://www.uppinghamtowncouncil.co.uk/) and a relatively new Town Partnership.

Uppingham Town Partnership has 15 members.
